Five Things I Tell Myself Everyday in 2025

Jody Maberry Show Episode 341 Five things I tell myself every day

“If you’re confident that you’ve done your very best, then you can’t do anything better than your very best.

It’s been nearly two years since Jeff Noel joined for a conversation. We dove deep into the five quotes I tell myself every day to stay focused and motivated. There are a number of ways that these reminders can aid professionals in both their personal and professional lives.

Here are the five quotes we discussed:

  1. Do your best and forgive yourself – Admiral Payne
    • This quote has been in my rotation since 2021. It’s a great reminder that sometimes our best efforts don’t yield the results we hope for, and that’s okay. Forgiveness is key. Jeff elaborates on how powerful this mentality is for maintaining balance.
  2. Trade your expectations for appreciation – Tony Robbins
    • Added in 2022, this quote helps me stay grounded. By focusing on appreciation over expectation, I find more joy in daily accomplishments, no matter how small. Jeff shares his perspective on how this also ties into the concept of surrender.
  3. Happy Present Moment – Jeff Noel
    • A timeless reminder from Jeff himself. This prompt brings me back to the present, encouraging me to appreciate the here and now. Jeff further explains how being present changes the quality of our interactions and overall life satisfaction.
  4. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth writing about – David Roberts
    • A new addition this year, this quote pushes me to document and share experiences that matter. It’s not just about completing tasks, but sharing those accomplishments to inspire others and create accountability.
  5. If you don’t offer them something, someone else will – Ben Settle
    • This practical quote reminds me to always put our best work out there, especially with the Cockrell Academy. If we believe in the value we offer, we have to ensure it reaches those who need it.

Special thanks go out to our listener Levi for suggesting we bring this episode back. And of course, an always-appreciative nod to Jeff Noel, who not only adds great depth to our discussions but also lives the values we talk about.
