You Haven’t Dreamed Big Enough

“Sometimes the best dreams are the ones you didn’t know to dream.”
This episode took a direction that was a bit unexpected, thanks to three excellent questions from filmmaker Ken Kebow. I never know what a guest will ask when they return to interview me, and that’s part of the fun. One of Ken’s questions has stuck with me: what would be your dream project?
I’ve been fortunate to do many of the things I once considered dreams. From working as a park ranger, launching this show, to collaborating with people I admire. But recently I went on an expedition with The Nature Conservancy to Puchegüín in southern Chile. Remote, beautiful, and humbling. What’s amazing is that I had never even heard of it before. It turned out to be a dream trip I had never dreamt. That realization hit me: maybe I haven’t been dreaming big enough.
Too often, our vision is limited by what we know. But what about all the incredible opportunities we don’t know exist? There could be projects, places, or ideas waiting just beyond our current imagination. That’s why it’s so important to stay curious and keep stretching.
This episode also dives into my favorite podcast guests, the value of early mornings in the park, reading quantum physics, and even talking to AI to prep for interviews. Remember to keep learning, keep dreaming, and never assume you’ve reached the edge of what’s possible.
