Ten New Lessons for Creating Magic

JMS ep 238 Ten New Lessons for Creating Magic

  1. Are you the type of leader you hope your children have when they get a job?

2. We’ve got a Human Resources department, but I’m your HR Manager. If there is a problem, the relationship should be good enough where someone will come to their manager. And staff will hear from the manager, not from HR.

3.The only person who thinks you are a big deal is you. The rest of us know the truth. You are not as good as you think you are. But you are also not as bad as you think you are.

4. Excellence is accumulative.

5. I’m not afraid to go on tile. I don’t have to stay on carpet.

6. When you know, you know. And people know you know.

7. Great service is delivered by great systems.

8. Focus on excellence, not growth.

9. People who aren’t used to being in the lead convince themselves they aren’t good enough to be there.

10. Don’t justify. Just Be.
